Marriage Intensives
Support for Couples to Heal, Reconnect, and Build a Love That Lasts
You and your spouse have tried traditional talk therapy but sense you could benefit from something more.
LifeGate Marriage Intensives create an opportunity for couples in crisis and experiencing acute relationship conflict to focus solely on their marriage. It is time in which our therapists come alongside couples in an in-depth exploration, helping them identify and address deeper issues and prevailing patterns of disconnection and effectively embrace new, healthier patterns of relating. Though the marital crises may look different, our intensives are designed to help get at the root concerns.
LifeGate Marriage Intensives might be a good fit for...
-
Couples considering divorce
-
Couples who are experiencing open hostility and disconnection
-
Couples that find themselves slowly growing apart
Marriage Intensives are led by Ryan Jackson, LMFT.
What is your approach to Marriage Intensives?
If you're ready to embrace the chance to transform your relationship and create a stronger, more resilient future together, LifeGate Marriage Intensives may be the right choice for you.
During the progression of the intensive, we will directly address the couple’s relationship and attachment history and begin identifying core issues. Upon identification of these core areas of relationship strain and communication breakdown, we will begin to develop a path to wholeness and relationship restoration. As a couple you will experience relationship progression as hidden obstacles are identified and deconstructed. New opportunities to reengage with your spouse in a healthy way will once again be within reach. You will also learn how to begin rebuilding a balanced and healthy marriage relationship. Early insights and progress will be solidified and built upon in the duration of the intensive and also in the coming weeks.
How will an intensive differ from my previous counseling experience?
While there will certainly be overarching connections from your experience in traditional couple’s therapy, our intensive is structured to more effectively uncover core issues that can be difficult to identify within the context and natural limitations of weekly therapy. The Intensive format effectively allows for extensive progress to be made in a short amount of time due to the nature of momentum that is developed in the presence of minimal distractions and delays. The intensive format both prioritizes and cultivates the necessary time and space for challenges to be discovered, developed, and addressed all within the context of the weekend. We have also found this atmosphere helpful for a spiritual recalibration in the marital relationship as well. While there is no mandatory incorporation of faith, it is seen as an integral part of our process for the weekend intensives.
What is the schedule of an intensive?
LifeGate Marriage Intensives span over 3 days with the following schedule (subject to change): Begin at 9 AM, break for lunch around noon, and finish at 4 PM. Couples receive roughly 20-25 hours of therapy over a relatively short period of time and have the opportunity to thoroughly invest in their marriage without the restriction of time as typical in counseling.
